Acoustic Nearfield

The high-quality nearfield music system in the office and in other limited private rooms offers optimal acoustic conditions on a very small area without negative room influences. With the reference loudspeakers S2V from ADAM AUDIO, the most compact high-tech systems are created with an extremely spatial and crystal clear acoustic image. You get quickly used to the stress-free advantages of a nearfield system compared to headphones, such as no "hot ears" and no "in-the-head effect", and you learn increasingly to appreciate them. Last but not least, housemates are much less affected by excessive near-field music enjoyment compared to the traditional, large audio system.

The 7-inch bass driver, newly created from the ground up for the S Series, covers frequencies ranging from 35 Hz to 3 kHz and delivers a powerful, distortion-free low-end with a wide dynamic range. The carefully refined S-ART tweeter, handbuilt as ever at the ADAM Audio factory in Berlin, works seamlessly in tandem with the newly developed HPS waveguide, creating absolutely precise imaging within a generously proportioned sweet spot.

The S2V’s compact dimensions belie its impressive power. A 300 W Class D amplifier drives the woofer while a 50 W Class A/B unit handles the S-ART tweeter; the combined output produces SPLs of up to 120dB per pair.

The S Series’ custom-designed DSP optimizes the loudspeaker crossovers to create linear responses for the entire range, as well as providing user equalization and in-room tuning/voicing functions. The DSP also handles the limiter-based high-frequency driver protection, processes the signals from the AES3 digital inputs, and will in time facilitate various expansion options. Software updates can be carried out with ease via the associated USB port, which also allows users to connect computers and control the speakers’ DSP functions via a software front-end.

With its highly accurate frequency response and balanced, razor-sharp imaging, the S2V allows users to pinpoint even the most subtle audio details, making it an ideal choice for use in demanding studio environments.

The ADAM Audio STUDIO PRO SP-5 headphones are the result of collaboration between two engineering-focused German companies, ADAM Audio and Ultrasone. Both firms are run by professionals who are passionate about creating products that offer the best possible audio reproduction.

During the product’s design, the ADAM Audio SP-5’s components were carefully selected, iteratively re-voiced and tuned, and changes were made to its diaphragm and housing based on direction from ADAM Audio’s engineers, until the headphones’ sound and tonality was right and carrying the renowned ADAM Audio sonic signature.

The first headphones in ADAM Audio’s portfolio incorporate technology such as Ultrasone S-LOGIC ® Plus, and were designed for high-precision audio reproduction with maximum passive isolation, low ear fatigue, and seamless transition between our headphones and studio monitors as well as maximum comfort.

The STUDIO PRO SP-5 is

a premium-quality circumaural closed-back headphone designed for professional use with a balanced and dynamic response for monitoring and mixing in the studio or with a mobile setup.

The ADAM Audio SP-5’s transducers contain a 40 mm gold plated diaphragm allowing a wide frequency response from 8 Hz to 38 kHz, excellent transient response, and low distortion. Reproducing sound with pristine resolution across the entire bandwidth, the sensitivity of 95 dB @ 1 mW per ear enables the listener to exploit its generous dynamic capabilities when listening.
